The power keeps going off and on, and now it’s hailing. Still no wind. Like the whole mess it just sitting right over us being loud and ominous.
I’m going to prepare some bowls of ice cream for myself and the husband, like any sane and rational adult does when there’s a really weird storm going on outside.
Thunder? Obnoxiously loud. Lightning? Off the hook. Wind? None whatsoever. And it’s hot as hell, but there is a bit of rain falling. I don’t like any of this. Weather feels weird right now. Maybe I’ll go hide in the closet with the cats. They took off running after the first loud burst of thunder 30 minutes ago. Perhaps they know something I don’t?
And the power just went out. Ugh.
I slept for nine full hours, which was a blessing. Then I rolled out of bed and tended to the needs of the overly noisy indoor cats before my eyes had even fully opened. While doing that I noticed one of the colony cats peering into the kitchen window, so I shambled outside to tend to their needs. At this point, I promptly melted into a puddle of human goo. Somehow, I managed to ooze back into the house and get myself a large glass of ice water to drink while standing directly under an air conditioning vent and have now mostly recovered from having been out in the hellish environment we now live in.
It is freaking miserable outside. I shall endeavor to avoid having to go outside during daylight hours until further notice.
Just checked the weather for the week, and it’s gonna be nothing but hot, hot, hot. I mean really hot. Like late summer hot, and it’s not even late summer yet. Hell, it’s barely summer at all!
