The newest semi permanent food truck addition in the 'hood has put yet another door hanger on my front door to announce their existence. They have now shown me a lovely photo of a tasty looking mangonada often enough, I will have to go get one this weekend.
A mangonada, for those who don’t know, is a somewhat lumpy mango slushy, interspersed with a bright red sauce (guess you’d call it a sauce) called chamoy which is also made from puréed fruit mixed with chili powder. The rim of the cup is generally coated in chili lime powder, and there’s almost always a straw heavily coated in tamarind.
