True fact, the oven pilot light was out again. I did manage to get my skinny little arm all the way back (through the broiler door) to it to clean the sensor that determines whether the pilot light is on or not, which I suspect is the actual problem. It turns off the gas if it thinks the pilot has gone out. It was filthy, and all I did was get off the worse of the buildup, but maybe that buys me time for my back to get better enough to be lifting heavy oven doors and taking apart large appliances.
I might be able to do it without taking the door off, but I’ll have to find some way to support the door, as I will need to be putting all my weight on it. Like, I don’t want to break the door hinges or tip over the oven and break the gas line. Neither broken oven nor death are acceptable outcomes. 🤪
