Lamp Lit!

My lamp rebuilding project, which was moving along slowly enough thanks to my excessive fear of working with electrical things, was sidetracked by the flu, but today … I finally rewired the thing and out it all back together. And … it worked! It's not even dangerous to living creatures! I finally took something apart, put it back together again in its intended form, and made it better than it was before.

Though I will admit that deconstructing things and making other things out of them is significantly more fun than repairing things, so don't expect me to me making any major life changes anytime soon. I will still be taking things apart and not putting them back together to perform their intended functions.

I obviously still need to get a lamp shade for it, but since I don't really have anywhere to put the thing at the moment anyway (and don't know what sort of shade I want), that's going to wait. I'm moving on to the much more important task of getting my favorite sewing machine in top condition. There is some serious sewing to be done!

  1. So, that’s just a Lava Lamp taken apart and put together differently?

I may have to give that a go if so.

    • No, it’s an antique lamp that I has moved from place to place with me for almost 25 years. Broken, the whole time, because the only time I saw it was when I took it out of storage to move. I finally fixed the damn thing. LOL!
