Nasty Coffee

I scraped together enough coffee to make Lin one cup of good stuff. Meanwhile, I’m sitting here drinking the worst coffee in the world. These particular beans were nasty when they were fresh. Since then, they’ve been in the freezer for some months, and then they sat by the coffee makers for a few more months. None of this improved the flavor in the slightest. What’s really bad is being ancient didn’t make it any worse either, which makes one wonder what they did to the beans before they sold them. Coffee beans should not last forever while still tasting the same (either good or bad).

But bad coffee works as well as good coffee to get the engine running in the morning, I suppose. I just won’t enjoy my morning coffee as much, but I will get to have two cups, so there is that. Maybe even three, if I stretch it as far as possible and mix it with plenty of cream and other tasty flavors. I’ll probably stop after the first cup though, because it really is nasty harsh coffee.

I need to get out in the garden early this morning to do some weeding and spray my plants with Bt (for caterpillars). There are some all new caterpillars I have never experienced before chomping on my squash plants, and I want them dead. Bt will do the trick. I also need to spray things down with soapy water too in order to kill the plethora of aphids that seem to be invading. So far they are only on the marigolds, but there are a LOT of them. That’s why I have marigolds in my veggie garden anyway, to attract the aphids away from things I don’t want munched on. Seems to work.

Not much else planned for the day. Get a little garden work done, water the garden, and then maybe work on some sewing or a painting or something. I’m still feeling quite wretched, so it’s possible nothing at all will get done today aside from the dishes. We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.
