In another delightful example of poor parenting, the parents of a six year old boy had him arrested for taking a bunch of his mom’s expensive jewelry and giving it to classmates. Yes, arrested. First off, I doubt the kid knew how much the jewelry was worth, and if he didn’t, that would be the fault of the parents. In fact, if he didn’t know he shouldn’t take things from his mom’s jewelry box and give them away, that would also be the fault of the parents. Seriously, at six years old, this kind of thing is entirely the fault of the parental units. They failed to teach their kids a few basic things.

My mom had some nice jewelry too. Do you think at the age of six I would have TOUCHED her jewelry box or, heaven forbid, taken anything out of it? Hell no, because my parents taught me the worth of things AND not to go messing around in other people’s belongings. And you know, even if I had done something so dumb, the issue would have been handled between the parents. I assure you, the cops wouldn’t have been called, even though I probably would have preferred that, because I can’t even imagine what my punishment would have been for doing such a thing. Seems to me sitting in a jail cell would have been better than living with my parents from that point forward.

Could we please stop criminalizing our small children? Please?

Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kathleen Sebelius said today that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is developing a new regulation that would require food manufacturers to display nutritional information on the front of packages.

Won’t make a jot of difference in what people buy! The only people I know who bother to read the labels beyond the brand name and price are those people who give a damn about what they eat, and they are sadly in the minority. They could put the nutritional information on the front of the package in huge bold type and most people just wouldn’t care or notice it.

In a preview of his book “Conservative Victory—Defeating Obama’s Radical Agenda,” due to be released Monday, Sean Hannity said of the policies President Barack Obama has been pursuing: “If you look up the dictionary definition of socialism, this is it.”

No, it’s not, and no, Obama is not the most “radical” president the USA has ever had. If Hannity went to college, I suggest he go back for some refresher courses in history and political science. Or maybe he could just look at the socialist countries in the world today and compare and contrast with the USA. Obama is no socialist and the USA is not about to become a socialist country. Sorry, Hannity, as usual, you don’t know what you are talking about.

Lt. Col Terry Larkin has undermined many of his superiors, including President Barack Obama, because he has refused to follow orders until Obama is able to produce his birth certificate. He went on to say that after looking at all of the information that currently publically available, even the most sensible person would have questions about the situation.

This Birther stuff just refuses to die, doesn’t it? Well, good luck with your plan to not obey orders, Lt. Col. Larkin. Let us know how that works out for you.

  1. I wouldn’t have even been in my parents’ bedroom without a parent present. It was off limits without supervision, because it was THEIR room. []
