R & R

I had a wonderful day. I did nothing at all. Seriously. Nothing. I just sat around doing nothing whatsoever all day long. And napping. I did do some napping. And playing with cats. I did that too. It’s just not possible to get to the peaceful napping without first wearing the monsters out.

It was glorious to just turn my brain off, turn on some tunes, and watch time go by, and now at the end of the day of nothing, I feel so refreshed and relaxed. I can’t stress enough the importance of occasionally doing nothing at all, especially when one has been running around with far too much to do for weeks on end. Everybody needs a little downtime.

Hopefully Lin will also get to have some downtime soon too, because he needs it just as badly as I did, if not more. And wouldn’t it be nice if he and I got to have one of our totally lazy weekends together again? I can’t even remember the last time we got to do nothing at all for an entire weekend. I think it’s been months ago.

Tonight I plan to get a good night’s sleep, and tomorrow I suspect I will be totally ready mentally and physically to get back to some of the projects dangling around demanding attention. Yeah!

Or maybe, I’ll just be a lazy bum for one more day. I don’t think I will, but another mental health day may be in order.

Footnotes
  1. Not that it would be a totally lazy weekend this weekend even if he doesn’t have to work, because … I need some earth tilled, and I can’t do it myself. Other than that though, we might have a lazy weekend this coming weekend, which would be nice. []
