140 Characters Deep

I stopped pushing boundaries when I got comfortable. Who doesn’t like to be liked? I need to push boundaries again … in both art and life.

Hi Orb,
Its been a while!
Can you risk not being liked? why should you?
You seem much more contented with the world than when I first visited (2005-) – less concerned with things
you cannot do anything about – more contented with the world around you – thats an achievement – but
now you have this – what else do you want? (Or this a bad day?)
The ‘pains in the arse’ commentators seem to have disappeared from your site. Is this good – or
do you need challenging?
Personally, at my age, I’ve seen enough of the world to have formed my opinions and
would rather have people just agree with me!
If you have reached this point – why don’t you just create a great piece of art or music or literature -
just for the personal fun of it? (I really think you are capable of this!)
Roy! Good to hear from you again!
Eh, it was sort of a bad day. Well, a bad art day. It’ll pass … or I’ll do something outrageous and then get over it. LOL!
I am a lot more content in life. We’ve settled into the house nicely, I’ve got my long-awaited veggie garden in the back yard, we’re overrun with adorable cats, and everything in general is just moving along smoothly enough. I can honestly say that most days, I am exquisitely happy! Tired, but happy!
Actually, I am working on two books right now. A cookbook and a collection of short stories. No real deadline plan for when they will be done, but I suspect one of them may be finished this year. I was mostly just doing it for myself, but when I started showing it to some friends, they wanted to read them too. So … then they became an actual project. Who knows, maybe I’ll make the Amazon best sellers list!
I have a couple of other big artsy-fartsy projects in the works too. In January, I decided this was going to be my decade. So far, everything (and everyone) seems to be cooperating with my plans. Though the time flies by so quickly! I can’t believe it’s already April!
Speaking of time flying by, I better get back to the housework. I’ve had an insanely busy day, and I want to get the kitchen cleaned and dinner cooked so I can flop on the couch and not move unless the house catches fire.
