The guy who flew the plane into the building was a software engineer originally from California, who snapped over continuing tax problems. What kind of tax problems? It seems he kept trying to not pay them.
I’m sure we’ll get plenty more information as this tale unfolds, but the screed he left behind is worth a read.
Pretty much, the dude was crazy. Maybe smart, but definitely crazy.
“Yeah, I’ll show them, I’ll just kill myself!”
Couldn’t pay his taxes, but owned an airplane?
The country has a lot of these man-babies and if predictions of higher taxes and lower wages are correct, we’ll probably see a lot more acts of adult immaturity.
Couldn’t pay his taxes, but owned an airplane?
That was my first reaction. Excuuuuuse me?! And the whole rant about the man coming down on the middle class, well, I know a lot of middle class people and none of them own their own planes. His house was pretty darn nice too and in a neighborhood that’s quite lovely and well-to-do. Too bad he couldn’t figure out how to pay his damn taxes (or didn’t want to pay them at all).
Dude was nuts. I think that about sums it up.
One of my friends was giving me grief because I knew I heard something kind of unusual this morning, and I did in fact see smoke on the horizon later, and then I even ran outside to watch jets fly over (F-16′s, I love them), and even heard massive amounts of sirens. She asked why I didn’t turn on the TV to see what was going on. Well, all these things really aren’t out of the norm around here. That they were all related to the same event, and that the event was a plane being flown into a building I drive by often, that’s unusual, but yeah … things burn down all the time, there are sirens all the time, and there are even jets and helicopters all the time.
Besides, none of it appeared to be close enough to be any danger to me, so I just kept practicing piano and playing with the cats. I’m getting jaded from living in the big city too long.
I think I am going to send this onto Jim and have him give it a good once over. He’s taken several classes in the psychology of written confessions so maybe he can shed some light other than my personal opinion of “bat shit crazy”.
