It snowed really nicely for a little while, and then the sun came out and it all vanished in a matter of 60 seconds. I didn’t even get any photos of things looking frosty! It’s was pretty though, and you know I enjoyed bouncing around in the falling snow freezing my butt off.

I’m having a hell of time getting my frozen rear in gear today. I slept in, which was actually part of my plan in order to be as well rested as possible for the drive tomorrow morning. But once I was awake, I just sat down and ceased moving. Even with the furnace blasting and multiple layers of clothing on, I can’t seem to get warm. Damn this drafty house!

But I have to bake bread and cookies today, so Lin will have some snacks and bread while I am gone. I just got the flour out of the fridge to let it come to room temperature, and somehow I have allowed myself to run far too low on high gluten flour. Let’s just say today’s bread will be very whole-wheat-filled and heavy. Oh well, at least the kitchen will be nice and cozy once I get the oven going!

I also need to do my laundry and pack for my trip. I don’t need to take much with me, seeing as the weather is threatening to be nasty the whole time I am there, so I won’t be doing too many of those planned outdoor activities. All the same, I could actually pack for this trip like a normal person instead of just grabbing whatever is handy two minutes before I jump in the truck to leave (like I usually do). Most importantly, I need to dig out some warm shoes. It’s time to put the summer shoes away! I don’t think I’ll be wearing sandals or jellies for a while.

And yet, with all these things I should be doing sitting there waiting to be done, I’m sitting here at my desk in front of a space heater enjoying feeling warm … and playing stupid online games. I’ll have to get moving soon though, because bread does take a while to make, and it would be nice to not be doing it late at night.

Maybe if I have a little snack and some coffee it will motivate me to get into high gear and get some stuff done! I think I’ll try that. At the worst, I’ll be even more awake while sitting at my desk in front of a space heater playing stupid online games.
