Hypocrisy

The program [Early Show on CBS] is defending its decision to blur out Lambert’s onstage lip-lock with his keyboardist when replaying a clip of the now-infamous American Music Awards performance.

Seconds after airing the edited clip, “The Early Show” played footage of Madonna and Britney Spears snogging – unedited.

CBS can defend it all they like, but from where I am sitting, it looks like a typical case of hypocrisy and homophobia.

Two women kissing with obvious tongue action = double plus good! Two men kissing with no obvious tongue action = pornography!

Welcome to America and have a nice stay!

I’m also confused about what legal action –as per CBS’ statement on the subject– this kiss is going to cause. No one has explained that yet. The only legal action I could see ensuing would be if the keyboardist was so offended by the kiss he sues for sexual harassment, which I doubt is going to happen. Other than that, the last time I checked, kissing isn’t illegal, no matter if it’s men or women or any combination thereof.

CBS is now firmly on my sh*tlist.

Have you ever watched any of the soap operas on CBS? My mom does, so I sometimes see them. They have actual simulated sex –hetero, of course– on nearly every episode! I’ve never seen any blurring going on there.
