I heard about this on Olbermann last night, but he didn’t have the video. The video has surfaced, and now I share it with you … Tea Party Patriots being themselves.
Apparently, they (Tea Party Patriots) are “exasperated” by stories of isolated health care tragedies which they believe clouds the health care debate. What do you have when there are thousands, if not millions of isolated tragedies? A crisis.
I’d also like to say I am always intrigued to see so many people obviously in the age-range of Medicare at these events screaming about socialized medicine and the downfall of America. You know what? If the health care situation doesn’t improve, my life won’t change at all. I’ll still not have access to proper health care, and after a lifetime of that, I’ve gotten used to being sick all the time and likely living a shorter life than I should. Therefore, I say we give them what they want.
They want an end to entitlements? They want lower taxes? They don’t want any socialism mixed in with their democracy? Fine. We should do away with Medicare and Social Security. Then let’s see how their “got mine, f*ck you” attitude flies when they have to fend for themselves like all the rest of us. My life wouldn’t be changed at all by this. In fact, the extra money on the paycheck without having to pay for Medicare and Social Security might actually mean I could afford to see a doctor from time to time and maybe even afford health insurance. So, screw them.
Unplug grandma … and grandpa too.
And you’ll need to shut down “socialist” programs like public schools and the postal service and stop building roads and and and… I mean, come on, people.
I really wish there was some way to show them what it would be like if the government didn’t do the great many good things the government does, all of which they would call “socialist” in nature. It’d be pure hell.
