Dude. Go Outside.

I’m convinced our morning weatherman has a slipped gear in his brain today. He keeps going on about how even though the humidity is 89% it’s going to feel uncomfortably dry, because the dew point is 47ºF and the temperature is three degrees higher than that. It’s one of those moments when I find myself wondering if he’s been outside this morning at all. It’s far from uncomfortably dry. It is, in fact, quite moist outside. Dripping moist. There’s dew dripping off everything, and everything –including myself– is quite damp.
Now perhaps his science tells him that these conditions should be uncomfortably dry, but dude … step outside and realize it isn’t dry at all out there! Sorry Mr. Weatherman, but I have never seen a day with 89% humidity that felt at all uncomfortably dry, not even when the temps are much much higher and the dewpoint much lower than the air temperature. So the science in this case may say one thing (though he’s not bothered to explain why), my senses are telling me something completely different. I think I’ll go with my senses.
It’s damp this morning!

I suspect he’s not allowed to. We had a hurricane years back when the weatherman was struggling in to work to tell people there was no hurricane. He knew there was but his job was to relay the data.
There was one morning he swore it wasn’t foggy as soup out there, and it was. We could even see it on their traffic camera report. But no, he insisted it was dry and clear.
Which is why I only watch the morning weather to see the radar and long range forecast. Then I check the weather online. The guy is entertaining, but sometime VERY wrong about current conditions.
I have never seen a “uncomfortably dry day” Humidity can be uncomfortable, but cool dry air is far from uncomfortable
