Morning Dilemmas

I have had to turn on the air conditioning this morning. It’s 80ºF outside and raining. It was sticky and stuffy and just awful in the house. Maybe the cold front blowing through later today will bring back those cooler temperatures.

Today’s morning dilemmas are the cats being out of food, the registration on the truck running out tomorrow, and the mud pit in which I live is becoming more and more of a mud pit. I know we need the rain, but I could do with a couple of weeks of sunshine and no rain at all so things can dry out. I’m tired of the damp … and the mud. Really tired of the mud.

Anyway, I can’t do anything about the truck registration or the mud, but I will have to go get some cat food before the cats notice the empty bag has disappeared. The mere lack of a bag of cat food for a few hours will be enough to convince them they are starving, even though they all had a healthy breakfast. I really don’t feel like going to the feed store today, so I guess the brats get some store bought kitty junk food. They will be thrilled.

I’m going to try to get caught up on all the other housework I ignored while I was rummaging around in the bedroom the last week. This does not make me happy, but I would like the house to be in some state of cleanliness and order before the weekend.

That’s the plan for the day. We’ll see if I get much of anything done. I am notoriously bad about doing housework when it’s dark and gloomy, and this book I am reading is getting really good. I might get distracted. That’s been known to happen.
