Looks Like Rain

It looks and feels like it wants to rain. It could rain. I wouldn’t mind. It’s already dark and gloomy anyway, and my bone hurt, so why not go ahead and water my garden for me!

Of course, I would like it to wait just a few more minutes. As soon as I have finished eating a little late lunch, I need to go plant the fava beans and re-park my truck in the driveway. I forgot to plant the beans yesterday, and Lin left my truck all askew in the driveway after using it to start his truck this morning. It looks like a crazy person parked it.

For the record, neither of the humans at Casa de Orb are feeling especially well. Still have the headaches and body aches and somewhat weird stomach stuff going on. We have both had Type A flu before –which is the type the new flu is a subtype of– so I am starting to think we actually do have the flu, but due to not being in the age group that gets it the worst and having some Type A antibodies, our immune systems are keeping it from becoming full-blown flu attacks. Or maybe it’s the change in the weather. Or, in my case in particular, it could be the fact that mold spores are running freaking wild right now (as is ragweed). Who knows what’s making us feel crappy, but we do still feel sort of crappy.

I haven’t gotten much of anything done today. Now that my sandwich is safely in the tummy, as soon as I swallow the last three sips of soda in my glass, I better get up off my lazy and possibly somewhat sick behind and get something done … like plant beans, park a truck, clean the litter box, check the mail, do the dishes, vacuum the living room rug, clear the accumulated piles of junk mail off the kitchen table, start the stew, or any one of a hundred other things I could and should get done today. Now if I only had some energy and didn’t hurt all over, I might make a dent in my list, but I don’t have any energy and I do hurt all over, so I guess I’ll just get done what I can get done. Can’t ever ask for more than that from oneself.
