Hannity Said it – Must Be True

“Without competition, the price of insurance goes up and quality goes down. And it makes it easier for insurance companies to treat their customers badly by cherry-picking the healthiest individuals and trying to drop the sickest, by overcharging small businesses who have no leverage, and by jacking up rates. Insurance executives don’t do this because they’re bad people; they do it because it’s profitable.
–President Obama

“He had a very different tone tonight when he [Obama] said insurance executives are bad people.
–Sean Hannity

It’s been bad enough lately with all the talking heads demonstrating they lack the ability to read for comprehension, now some of them are demonstrating they aren’t even capable of understanding spoken English.

Person speaking English: “The sky is blue.”

Sean Hannity: “That person said the sky is orange!”

And, of course, among a certain segment of our society, Hannity’s words are more truthful than anything they hear with their own ears. There are people out there agreeing that Obama said insurance executives were bad people, even though he quite clearly didn’t say that.

Crazy, isn’t it?

Footnotes
  1. It’s not that they lack the ability to read written words and comprehend them, I’ve determined. I actually have no idea whether they can comprehend written English, because I don’t think they actually read anything. []
