It Was a Dark and Stormy Day

It is excessively dark and rainy today. Therefore, I am not getting anything at all done. I’ve tried to go to the store three times, and each time, a downpour starts as soon as I get to the front door. I am obviously not supposed to go grocery shopping today. I had some other errands to run today too, but I guess they’ll just have to wait.

Then I thought I would do the dishes, which really need to be done, and the electricity started acting up. While I can chopped veggies and make dinner by candlelight, washing dishes without lights doesn’t work so well.

And I’m tired, and my allergies are kicking my butt. That never leads to much getting done.

I do have some good news today! Mom’s glasses finally came from Zenni Optical, and she loves them! The prescription was perfect, and she says the glasses fit well and are made well. Bifocals for $40! Can’t beat that! I’m glad she’s happy and finally has her new glasses … and that I know where I can get me some cheap glasses when I get around to getting my eye exam.

I guess I’ll go try to start on the dishes again, though it’s getting darker and darker, so who knows if the lights will go out again. Can’t complain about the rain though. The garden and I are loving it.

  1. Cool! I’ve been needing some new glasses for a while now but have been putting it off for lack of …knowing where to get them for cheap. May have to check this place out/have them on standby when my glasses finally break.

The left lens is chipped on one part plus every few times I clean it, it pops out. I can pop it back in though so I can still see. But one of these days I know I’m going to be cleaning them at the bus stop or something and they’re going to fall and either break or I won’t be able to find it ‘cuz I’m so blind.

    Enough about my eyes.

  2. Since they’ll give a 50% refund if you return the glasses, we thought it would be worth the minor investment and some potential hassle, if we got them and they sucked. Since she needed new glasses more than I do at the moment, she was going to be the guinea pig. Well, she says they are awesome, and the frames are even better quality than her $400 pair.

The company was great to work with too. On the ball. When they got the order, they thought the prescription looked odd (because it is), and they called and emailed that day to ask us to verify it. Then a two weeks from the day we ordered, they arrived. Really pleasant customer service.

And they have some funky frames I am totally in love with, and thanks to the low prices, I can order a normal pair and a funky pair and not feel guilty about it.
