There’s rain the the forecast all the way through Sunday night. Woo hoo! I hope there’s at least a little rain every day.

The heat has broken, for now. No idea if it will get awful again or if this is finally it, and we can expect lower temperatures from here on out. It feels like the heat is broken and won’t be back, but Texas weather is weird. It could get beastly hot again.

All the same, I think I’ll be planting the fall veggies sometime in the next few days. With the cooler temps and the moisture, it’d be a good time to get stuff going. You know I am eager to get going on the fall garden!

The plants out there now are very happy. The weeds are also very happy and are springing forth everywhere. Ugh. Bed One, which has been sitting there fallow and weed-free for almost two months is now not so weed-free, and there’s one of those damn pear trees trying to come up in the mound area. Argh! I hate those pear trees! I will never see the end of them.

But it’s nice to have an excuse to be outside and puttering in the garden, and even nicer to be able to be outside at all without instantly bursting into flames. Please let fall officially be here! I have had enough of summer and the awful, awful heat.
