Did you know there’s been another recall of cat food recently? I didn’t, and I tend to keep up on these things. If you feed your cats any Nutro foods, you might want to look into it, though I would take anything the company itself says with a wheelbarrow of salt.
Apparently, Nutro is being a bit crappy in it’s handling of this situation too. No surprise really. Companies do hate to take the blame for anything their crappy products might have caused … like making pets sick or dead. Not good for business, right?
One of our local news stations just did a piece about identifying kidney failure in cats (and dogs), which is where I first heard there had been another cat food recall (though they don’t mention the brand).
Just F.Y.I.
http://www.totalrecallinfo.com never misses a recall.
Take care.
I became fed up (no pun) with all of the recalls 4 years ago so I started using a premium holistic food for my dogs and cats that have NEVER been subject to any safety recalls nor have any of the ingredients. The food is produced in APHIS certified plants (qualifies for sale in the European markets which are MUCH more regulated). I loved the food so much, and my cats and dogs loved the food so much, and their health improved so much that I now sell the food as part of my pet business (but I’m not trying to sell here – everyone educate themselves and should decide for themselves – my site – http://www.nutritiouspetfood.com -has a food comparison tool). There are so many reasons to NOT buy commercial pet foods. Do what is right for the health and happiness for your pets who have no voice in the decision. Learn about what they are eating!!
