Gotta Be Kidding!

“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.”

PETA is having a fit about Obama killing a fly? A FLY?! I’m pretty excessive with my compassion for living things, but flies are not even on the list of things I bat an eyelash about murdering if they won’t leave me alone.

Seriously … compassion for FLIES!!! What horrible human tragedy will they be comparing the deaths of millions of flies a day to I wonder? I’m sure PETA will come up with something completely obnoxious any day now.

  1. PETA is having a fit about Obama killing a fly?

What a complete misrepresentation of the truth. PETA did not react or attack anyone. They were asked to make a comment and they did.

Why so much disdain for PETA? Their motives are good even though their actions are questionable sometimes.

  2. Today on a local radio show here in Charlotte a PETA spokesperson did say that mosquitoes were borderline. :D

  3. They will now be known as “Air Kittens”. I guess pubic lice will be called “Crotch Kittens” maybe?

  4. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I agree with PETA on quite a number of things, but their methods do little to change peoples’ minds, because they are entirely too far over the top.

Crotch Kittens! Yes! I love it!!!

I do my best not to cause needless harm to animals, even insects, but there are a few things that do not get a free pass: flies, mosquitoes, aphids, fleas, and anything trying to chew on me, my cats, or my food supply … or have the potential of easily spreading diseases to same.
