Plans Changed

OK, when I turned the corner at the end of the block and saw more cop cars than I believe I have ever personally seen in my neighborhood scooting around on the cross street up ahead of me –some with lights flashing– I decided the kitty litter and birthday celebration materials (tomorrow is Lin’s birthday) could wait until later today or even tomorrow morning. I used a private driveway to get turned around and skedaddled right back home. I think I’ll stay inside for a while too. If there are that many cops a block away from my house, something is going on I don’t want to be any nearer to than at all necessary.

For the best, because as soon as I saw the cop cars I remembered that Lin had taken the insurance papers out of the truck to get his license renewed. The last thing I need right now is the hassle of having to go to a city office to prove I have insurance should I somehow come into contact with any of the multitude of cops crawling around my neighborhood and get a ticket. I have enough hassle in my life right now.
