I had to take allergy medicine at lunch. The mold spore count is through the roof, thanks to the recent rains, and that is the one thing that truly tears up my respiratory system. At least cedar pollen is seasonal. It goes away eventually (until next season). Mold knows no seasons. All it knows is that it’s moist and cool, and “Wheee! Let’s reproduce! while we can!” So I took the pills in order to breath, and then I fell asleep, which is about the only activity I am good for once I have had to take any allergy medication. Non-drowsy? Yeah, right. Puts me into a dreamless coma just like the regular formulas, but at least I can breath without wheezing, sneezing, and coughing my head off. It’s also easier to ignore the fact I feel like hell when I am not conscious, so at least there’s that too.
So my task to watch the sun levels in the garden stopped at noon, which is when the whole garden is finally in full sun. I set my alarm for an hour when I plopped onto the bed, because even in a semi-comatose state, I can still click the shutter button on the camera to take a photo of the back yard, but I slept right through the alarm. It went off every ten minutes until the battery died, and I never heard it once. I guess I’ll pick the sun watching up again tomorrow after lunch, provided I am awake and able. I better be awake and able tomorrow. There’s lots of stuff to do in the garden tomorrow.
Note: Took my next scheduled pill when I sat down to write this. Stumbled to the couch and passed out without hitting post. I’m telling you, these pills do what they are supposed to do, but damn they put me down fast.
