Stick-in-the-Mud

Something needs to be done about our driveway mud pit. I almost took out the neighbor’s new fence skidding around with zero traction, and now I think my truck is officially stuck … in the mud … in my own driveway mud pit.

It’s still raining too. I wanted rain, but maybe not this much rain?

  1. Concrete is an inexpensive, permanent improvement, can be had for cheap these days and returns more bang for the buck on resale than any other home expenditure. Blacktop is even cheaper, but not permanent.

  2. I imagine it will eventually end with us pulling out the concrete pad in front of the house and making one large pad of something. If we had an unlimited budget, we’d love to put in those crosshatched paving stones –the ones grass can grow through. We’re trying to avoid having half the front yard being concrete slab.

But yeah, something has to be done. At this point, I’d settle for a few large bags of heavy gravel.
