The bread turned out weird today. It’s light and looks tasty, but it’s just weird. I kind of knew it would be, because it’s humid and slightly overcast, and the bread always comes out odd on days like that. Light and fluffy, but sort of flat at the same time. I swear, if I hadn’t baked it in a pie pan, it would have oozed off the baking stone and all over the oven of the floor. Very odd, as it wasn’t that wet when I put it in for the second rise. Definitely sounds like too much environmental humidity. Flour will suck up as much water as it can find, even if it’s in the air.
But we needed bread, and now we have bread for dinner.
Speaking of which, I better go plan what I intend to make for dinner. Since there’s leftover baked chicken, I’m betting it’ll be something with chicken (and leftover rice and refried beans too).
