The scratching sound in the shower wall went on all night. The cats took turns sitting in the shower and staring at the wall. I kid you not, the cats took turns standing watch. One of them would go into the bathroom and relieve the one that was there. It was hilarious!
The sound is still there, but it’s not as active or loud now. I’m pretty sure it’s one of our gigantic large roaches and not a mouse. There’s no chewing sounds at all, and I can’t imagine a mouse stuck in a location that has wallboard on one side and thin plastic on the other just crawling around in there waiting to die without chewing on something trying to get out. Not that having a giant roach in my wall makes me any happier, but at least when it dies in there, it won’t stink up the whole house.
I’d really like to take a shower, but I have this overwhelming phobia about things either coming up through drains or falling on me from above while showering –I really do have an intense phobia about this– so I am less than inclined to take a shower until all scratching sounds in the wall have ceased for a good long while. If something ever did crawl up through the drain or fall on me from above while showering, it’s highly likely I would never take a shower again. Seeing as we only have a shower, that would really suck! Maybe I’ll get brave later and hop in for a quick shower that doesn’t involve me having to close my eyes … so I can keep watch for creepy crawlers coming to get me.
The cats have seemingly lost interest in the Thing In The Bathroom. Isn’t making enough noise to maintain their attention anymore, and the more intelligent cats (Myu and Tora) have probably begun to realize they will never get to whatever it is anyway. Ronin is still stopping in and checking the bathroom every time he wanders down the hall, but even he is losing interest. I’d lose interest too, if I wasn’t completely freaked out by unseen creepy crawly things in the bathroom with me. Eeeew!
