Tomato “Tables”

Tomato Supports

Got up this morning, made coffee, gather tools and supplies, and went to work on the support system for the tomatoes. Some hours later, I am done. Oh, it’s pieced together from whatever I could find that seemed useful, but considering I built it, it’s surprisingly stable and may actually work as intended. Since I didn’t plan on supporting the tomatoes this way when I planted, I did have to work around some things, and a couple of tomatoes may need other support systems. I’m just going to wing it from here on out. I can, at least, keep the plants off the ground and they don’t be blown over, therefore, I am calling this a success.

I can’t believe I built something that doesn’t look totally crappy and won’t fall apart ten minutes after it’s been built! I even used tools!††

I needed to transplant the basil, which is now under the tomato supports and eventually won’t get any sunlight, but by the time I was done with the building, it was getting too hot and sunny to do any transplanting. I’ll have to do it early tomorrow morning.

It’s time for lunch. I’m famished!

Footnotes
  1. I’ll be cutting more cross support wires out to create larger holes for the plants and my hands (for weeding, etc.) as needed. My hands are tired from all the snipping and twisting and bending of wire. Oi, what a lot of fuss. []
