Energetic Kitty

Tora did not go to sleep until sometime near morning, and she wouldn’t even lay down quietly until I put back on the clothes I had on yesterday, fixed the bed, and laid on top of the covers. We both finally slept –really slept– after Lin went to work this morning. Oh, I am so tired.

She’s doing great though! The surgery site looks nice and pink and not at all icky, and those pain meds must work, because she doesn’t seem to be feeling any pain at all. I’m glad she’s doing so great, but I was looking forward to her feeling lazy for a few days. Of all the cats I have had, I have never had one that didn’t want to lay around for at least a day or two after getting fixed. Especially when they were on pain meds. Even after just getting a rabies shot, the other two moped around and slept for at least 24 hours! This one just wants to get back to life as normal, and she’s so full of energy! Well, I can’t just let her run loose in the house, because I know she’ll do all the stupid stuff she always does, and I’d like the stitches to have a couple of days to start healing first. The last thing we need is a trip to an emergency vet to stitch her back up.

I’m going to let her out into the main house in a little bit to see how it goes. The other cats are still not 100% certain she hasn’t been replaced by an alien pod cat. That’s really my main concern … that they all may get into a spat. Maybe I’ll switch it out and put the other monsters in the bedroom a while, and put a collar and leash on Tora so I can keep her within my viewing range.

Oh, and putting her in the carrier set up by the bed last night so I could get some sleep? Totally did not work. No loud meowing. No meowing or sound at all. Just the “thud, thud thud” of Tora doing somersaults over and over. Once her stitches are healed up and I don’t have to worry about her hurting herself, I’ll have to put her in the carrier and get some video. It’s hilarious … unless one is trying to sleep. Then, it’s just downright annoying.

Everyone better be chilled out and capable of being left alone by tomorrow. I have to go to the grocery store or cats and humans will be going hungry (or eating gruel). Thankfully, once all this is over and done with in about a week, none of us will have to go through this again.

I better get dressed and get my day going (so late already), and I better go check on Tora. She’s been in the bedroom alone for a while, and there’s no telling what she’s been up to in there. No good, I’m sure. :D
