I have said before, I love my bank. Still do, but they do sometimes screw up. It’s been three weeks now, and I still don’t have a new PIN for my bank card, which means I can’t use it. No real loss, as I am trying to save my money anyway, but in an emergency, I’d like to be able to get my hands on it. In the process if asking my mom if the letter with my PIN had come to her house, she had a question about the statement she’d just gotten. Turns out, the $20 I put into my checking account when I cashed my jury duty check went into her account instead. This is not the first time that’s happened, no matter the fact I write MY account number large as life on the deposit slip and make a point to tell the teller it’s supposed to go into this account and not the other one.
Ugh. It’s not a huge hassle, since it’s a shared account and only takes one phone call to transfer it where it’s supposed to go, but I didn’t notice this time and would have freaked out when my balance wasn’t what I thought it was. Well, at least they’ve never put it in some stranger’s account, and they are always pleasant to deal with. Still, glad we caught it before both our balances wouldn’t balance. When mom’s checkbook doesn’t balance, even when it shows more than she was expecting to have, it’s a national crisis.
The pork roast is really starting to smell good. I’m getting hungry! Glad I started it when I did, even though it was still a little frozen. Had I waited any longer, I don’t think it would have been ready in time to eat at a reasonable hour.
Got out the cat carrier a little while ago. The reaction of the cats was hilarious. Tora was all “Ooooh. What’s that? Can I play with it?” The other two took off and hid somewhere they couldn’t be found. I imagine after tomorrow, Tora will have the appropriate apprehension concerning the cat carrier. At the moment, she thinks it’s the most awesome cat cave ever. Sucker!
The roast has about an hour more to cook, which is good, since Lin just got home and needs to clean up first anyway. And I better to check that the truck has gas in it. Running out of gas tomorrow in an unfamiliar part of town would most definitely not help my stress level, particularly if there’s a screaming cat in the car. I fully expect there to be a great deal of cat screaming in the morning. Tora is always very vocal in letting us know exactly how she’s feeling about everything!
