Found: Amy

Amy Hadley has a blog!

OK, most of you don’t know who Amy is, but she was our morning news “girl” for years. I always looked forward to seeing what insane thing they had her doing at the ungodly hours of the morning when she and I were awake (and most of the rest of Austin was likely still asleep). Sweet, adorable, and always brought a smile to my face, I’ve missed her since she left News 8 to move on to a different career.

I did some Googling right after she vanished from my morning news routine, and I found nothing. But I thought about her every morning, because I missed her roving reports and early-morning, wide-awake smile. I was reminded to try again to find out what she was up to a few mornings ago when the new morning news “girl” annoyed me, and I finally got around to doing that this morning … thus finding her blog and discovering she is currently working behind the scenes at Home Made Simple (on TLC) as an assistant to the design host. I certainly wish her all the best in achieving her dream of having her own lifestyle TV show! I don’t tend to watch those sorts of shows, but I’d watch hers!

I just wish she’d write more often on her blog! She’s just as delightful to read as she is to watch, with a really fun conversational style that I like in a blogger. Write more Amy! More! A fan demands it!

And her web site design is so cool, it makes me want to recode my whole blog. I’m having blog design envy!

Well, at least I still have Todd to look forward to every weekday morning in the early predawn hours. Heaven help me if they ever lose Todd Boatwright at News 8. I don’t know what I’d do if both my favorite local morning news hosts disappeared elsewhere. I wouldn’t watch any other channel, because News 8 rocks, but it just wouldn’t be the same. It’s already not the same without Amy Hadley. Without Todd, it would be a mere shell of what it is now.

Todd needs a blog too. I would totally read it.
