I am feeling like utter poo today, so here are some random thoughts:
If you buy a house next to a train track, you can expect to hear trains driving on the tracks. To avoid hearing trains driving on their tracks, do not buy a house right next to a train track.
Poor people own houses too. I know, it does boggle the mind that not all poor people are renters, but it’s a fact that some of them actually live in homes they own.
Austin does not need more condos and walk-in restaurants.
Asking an email list for contact information for someone who lives right next door to you is just about the dumbest thing I have ever heard. How about walking over to your neighbor’s house when it’s obvious they are home and actually talking to them?
Not everyone uses the internet. I know that to those of us who do it seems odd to think there are people who either can’t afford it or simply don’t want it, but the internet is not truly a ubiquitous household item.
Who the hell has time to send and email to a list every time a car they don’t recognize drives down their street?! And why would anyone call 911 every time they see a car they don’t recognize driving down their street or someone walking on the sidewalk that they don’t personally know? Scared much?
And … get over yourself already. You are not as wonderful as you think you are. Your neighborhood is not as precious as you think it is.
Can you tell I have been checking in on the nearby neighborhood associations today? Oh my goodness, the insanity, smugness, and general sense of snobbery is almost overwhelming.
