Common Purslane. Seen as a weed here in the states, but eaten in other parts of the world. We didn’t have this weed until we bought dirt and compost, and the only places I see it are in my pots and beds … where we used said dirt and compost. While I don’t need it running rampant all through my garden, I may leave some be and try eating it. Though is does seem to be really weedy and invasive. Perhaps I’ll leave it in one of the pots and keep it out of the actual garden proper.
While pulling up weeds in my new garden beds (already), I also found an odd plant I couldn’t identify. Almost looks like parsley, but the seed it came from is too large. I replanted it in a starter pot. Curious to see what it is. The seed either came in with the dirt and compost or was left by birds. It’s not anything I’ve seen growing in the yard before. If it survives being transplanted, I’ll post a photo.
Killed four Bermuda Grass shoots with impunity in the first raised bed. It is NOT going to win back there. Going to have to stay on top of it and check every day. Bermuda Grass grows … like a weed (maybe worse).
