This weekend’s crafty project wasn’t really a project at all. I decided to finally learn a knitting technique called Entrelac. It took me all of Saturday night knitting and ripping to figure it out, but I finally did.

There are mistakes, and my stitch gauge is all over the place, but I think I have the basics of the pattern down. It’s not actually as hard as it looks, and the knitted piece grows quite quickly. I can see why so many people enjoy this stitch pattern.

For my knit-crazy friends, here’s the Entrelac tutorial I ended up following to learn it. I looked at a lot of tutorials and tried more than a couple of them, this was the only one that ended up making sense to me. Be advised: even though this stitch pattern doesn’t really require any truly advanced techniques, I would not suggest it for beginners. It can be tricky. :)
