This and That

That storm came through earlier. We were a little nervous for a while, because it did get quite windy. But the whole shebang blew through very quickly, and now it’s nice and peaceful again.

I should have secured my seedling tray earlier than I did. It wasn’t especially windy when Lin got home from work, and he said it was fine on the porch when he last saw it, but … when I got up from my nap shortly thereafter, it had been blown off the porch and dumped over. I righted the little pots, put them back in the tray, and stuffed them into their secure location before sunset. I’ll look at them tomorrow to see how many more of my seedlings were lost in this little disaster. I was so happy today too, because some of the baby tomato plants had really gotten perky, and now they are probably all dead. Yes … I did, in fact, cry about it.

It’s probably going to be too wet in the raised bed to do any planting tomorrow, so it looks like I am still stuck with my Thursday planting plans. I’m so eager to get going on the actual planting! Though I don’t know that I am going to be in any shape to even move tomorrow. I am sore from all the digging and bending and picking small pebbles out of slightly soggy dirt. Ugh. My arms are so heavy!

I did knit a little more on that shawl. Every row is an inch of added length, and I added about five more rows. I’m just a bit over half way now. I can’t wait until it’s done and washed so I can start wearing it. It’s going to be so comfy on cool mornings. Hope I have it done by next Saturday when we have a lot of errands to run!

It’s time for bed. I had a busy and tiring day today.
