It was quite cold yesterday, and it’s about the same again today. We didn’t get the ice and sleet like the weather guy kept saying we would, so it’s just been damp and cold.

I spent yesterday hibernating in the living room with the cats and playing video games. I fully intend to do the same thing today after I do the dishes and clean the bathroom. Too chilly in the house! I can’t get motivated to do housework, and I certainly won’t be going outside for any reason whatsoever.

OK, I probably will venture outside at some point this afternoon to lift the plastic covering my poor plants to see if they are surviving. I’m sure they did. It hovered no lower than actual freezing, and they have been through that a few times before without plastic covering them. Except the baby radishes, but to be honest, I don’t think radishes can be killed by anything. They better not be dead, let’s put it that way. We are half way to having fresh radishes, and I don’t want to have to start over!

Speaking of baby plants: I lost a few of the seedlings. Well, better they die now than later. I’ve already replanted more seeds. Losing some is to be expected. Having some not come up at all is also to be expected. I don’t know that next year I’ll bother with starting seeds early. Seems to be a bother and too much extra fuss. Unless, of course, any of them survive and go on to thrive and give me really early veggies, in which case, I will deal with the bother and do it again. :)

Now to go do those dishes so I can get back to hibernating in the living room in front of the space heater. The draft blowing around my desk makes sitting here completely intolerable!
