I totally forgot to mention the only really exciting thing to have happened, aside from discovering the house next door sold. Yesterday, when Lin and I were puttering around in the back yard talking about where my 30′x30′ garden and his work shed were going to go, I heard a helicopter flying low and headed our way. Didn’t sound like the usual cop-owned one, and when it came up over the horizon, I could see immediately it was army green and unmarked. Nothing too terribly exciting about a normal Army helicopter flying around, though it is pretty rare to see them flying over my house. No, what was exciting was what came over the horizon next!
I’ve finally seen my first fully-loaded Apache helicopter in the wild! OK, not just in the wild … EVER! I love the Apache, so it was really exciting to get to see one flying overhead so closely. They are much quieter than I expected. Really quiet, for a helicopter, and it looked so cool buzzing by!
Though it does make one wonder why exactly there was a full-loaded Apache flying over my house. Hope that doesn’t become a regular event, though I suppose I wouldn’t mind too much. They are one of the coolest things in the air these days. :)
