We Be Lazy

Left to our own devices to enjoy our first real Xmas alone and at home, what did we do with ourselves?

We started the day with coffee and Kahlua. I enjoyed this and have determined it will be a continuing Xmas tradition at Casa de Orb.

Mom called when she got to the family gathering, and I chit chatted with the members of the family that were already there.

Then I got out the piano and played a few silly Xmas songs followed by about an hour of practice on that other song I am learning.

The rest of the day was a whole lot of lounging around in the living room, eating of baked goods and chocolates, and watching TV.

We had a fine and hearty stew for dinner, and by 11:30 pm, I was falling asleep on the couch, so I went to bed.

Are we an exciting couple of people or what?! I think next year, I’m going to put some effort into decorating and maybe demand that we not exchange gifts the way we usually do (i.e. we buy what we want and declare it a gift from the other) and that there should be wrapped gifts under a tree. And a special meal too. We need a special meal. Not beating myself up too much about this year’s Xmas not being very Xmas-like though. We didn’t know we’d be home alone until late in the game, so there really wasn’t much time for planning anything. Or money … wasn’t much money either. Next year will be better and more Xmas-like!

Today I have to get moving shortly to go get that print from the Photo Center and a frame at the craft store. Seems to me there was something else I needed to do. Oh yeah, I need to go to Discount Electronics for a mouse and maybe a keyboard for my mom (if I can get both cheaply enough). I’m sure I am forgetting something else I need to do today, but maybe it will come to mind later. Right now, more coffee is in order, and then off to the stores!
