Two writs of certiorari were granted today by the Supreme Court. The full list of what happened during today’s conference will be released Monday (presumably, if past history holds true). Instead of taking this as a sign that it’s entirely possible the case attempting to prove Obama and McCain are not eligible to run for President of the USA, as they are not natural born citizens, won’t be reviewed by the SCOTUS, the people who are entirely too wrapped up in this have chosen to take it as a sign they will. Why would they delay announcing the granting of the writ, in the minds of these people? Because they want to give law enforcement an opportunity to prepare for the riots and chaos it will cause. I’m not kidding.

First, I’d have to say that most Americans, let alone world citizens, have little clue any of this is evening going on right now … and most of them wouldn’t care, if they did know. Second, just because the SCOTUS agrees to review a case doesn’t mean it will be won by the filer of the appeal. Far from it. I think it’s a little too early to expect riots in the streets.

I will say this: If the SCOTUS does take the case on for review, and somehow “natural born citizen” becomes defined so narrowly as to only include only persons born of two US citizen parents on US soil, I will return to my wicked protesting ways in a heartbeat. I’ll probably skip the rioting though. Probably. I tend to choose my reasons for rioting carefully, what with the possibility of injury, death, or incarceration.

As an aside, I’d also like to clarify for persons who do not know, if both McCain and Obama are somehow determined to be ineligible to run for President of the USA, there will not be a new election. There are hardwired contingency plans already within our system to deal with such matters. Acting-President Biden!

There are actually some fairly vocal individuals who seem to be under the impression that once this is all over and they get their way somehow we will end up with President Palin. Um, that wouldn’t be very democratic of our democracy, now would it? Want to see me rioting in the streets? Make the hockey mom President of the USA. Seriously. Some things are worth fighting for … or against.
