On my way to the grocery store today, I noticed one of the auto stickers was expiring this month. I can never tell from the back which one is which, because they have changed both of them a few times the last few years. I didn’t think anything about it until a few minutes ago when I decided I should go see which one it was, in case I wanted to go take care of it tomorrow.
Well, it’s the inspection that is expiring in November. No biggie. It’ll pass, though I probably need to get new wiper blades first. Then I noticed the registration sticker. It expired last month! OMG, I have been driving an illegal vehicle for two weeks! Good thing I don’t drive much. This is one of the reasons I hate the new registration sticker design: it’s solid blue on the back and the numbers can’t be seen from the inside. The only way for me to keep track of it is to look at the thing before getting into the truck, and how often do I do that? Obviously, not often enough.
I guess I’ll see if Lin can get the registration sticker for me sometime this week, since I don’t think driving an unregistered vehicle to DPS is a great idea. Then I can go get the wiper blades and the inspection done. I’d like to have it legal by Friday so I can run some errands, but if not, oh well. Having it done by next Monday would be good. I have jury duty starting on Monday, and I haven’t decided if I am going to drive or take the bus. Sort of depends of what is going on with the bus drivers and their strike. Might be easier to just drive and pay $5 to park in a lot somewhere.
There’s just always something, isn’t there? Gah!
