Can you name the countries on the North American continent? If you can, you should run for Vice-President of the United States!
I wish I were kidding. If you can stand to do it, you can watch the clip from Fox New’s The O’Reilly Factor here, and it’s worth watching, of for no other reason than to remind us all about the bullet we dodged when she didn’t get into the White House. And it’s not just the countries in North America a certain Hockey Mom didn’t know.
Unlike Bill though, I am more than willing to go out on a limb and say that any person of able body and mind living in the USA who can’t name the countries which make up North America is either a kindergarten student or stupid, and there is no way in hell anyone running for any public office in our country should have to be “brought up to speed” about it. She should have been brought up to speed on the subject of which three countries make up North America sometime during elementary school like the rest of us, if not sooner.

USA, Canada, Mexico. Does Quebec count? I don’t think so but without looking I’m not 100%.

There we go, someone from the other side of the world doesn’t know what’s south of Mexico.
Anything south of Mexico isn’t North America (there’s a little squabbling on where Central America starts, but Mexico is definitely N.A.). Foreigners get a pass on knowing it all. ;)
While I probably wouldn’t ace a test involving a blank world map to fill in, particularly in the eastern European and Russian areas, I do, at least, know about the countries on my own continent … and I’m not even running for VP! Maybe I should.
But yeah, North America is Canada, Mexico, and USA. Though some people include Greenland and all those little islands to the south of us, in common usage (say the North American Free Trade Agreement), it’s just the three biggest ones. I suppose she might not have known about all the islands and Greenland being considered part of it, and they are just twisting it now to make her seem stupid, but I wouldn’t doubt she didn’t know who was involved with NAFTA (something a VP should maybe know about), because I think she’s dumb as a post. Makes me wonder which ones she didn’t know. Did she forget Mexico … the country from which all those undocumented workers keep coming from? That’d be silly seeing how much it’s in the news all the time.
At first I thought she was faking being dumb to be folksy, but no … I really think this woman is really, really dumb.
