What a cute, cute kitty, yes?
New Kitty came in for another short visit tonight. I think, if that’s what I decide I want, she’d like to be an indoor/outdoor cat. Just wants to come in for a few minutes and hang out, and then wants to go back out again. That’s fine with me for right now, as she certainly isn’t coming in full-time until I have given her worm medicine (always a good idea) and a flea bath/flea treatment anyway. I’m not entirely comfortable with having an outdoor cat, but I also don’t want to totally upset the cats currently living here.
It’s so funny watching Ronin and Myu react to the Big Scary Kitten. Myu is at least curious about the thing. Ronin is being a big baby. At one point, the kitten was in the living room playing with a straw, and my two brats were huddled under the kitchen table hissing like a bag of vipers. Not hissing at anything. Just hissing. They didn’t even react like this when they first met Pixie, a yappy little obnoxious dog that chases cats! They each hissed once, and then ignored the dog. The second time she came to visit, they ended up grooming her. But no … a tiny little kitten scares them senseless.
Though I will tell you, the cat attitude in the house has improved this evening. Oh, they love us now. They want to get up in laps, and rub on legs, and generally let us know they think we are the bestest thing ever. Also, they have been laying on The Cute thicker than ever. Perhaps concerned about being replaced?
I put out some food and water and a bed no cat in this house has ever chosen to use. I’m not going to force this on anyone, cat or human alike. We’ll play it by ear and see where it goes. I might just try to find it a home of its very own, which is what I think I will try to do with the others that are getting left behind. Except Big Black. He’s old, and he’s been roaming this neighborhood his whole life. Probably best to just keep feeding him and let him live out his days the way he always has.
And now I have to pay attention to the small black cat sitting in my lap requesting head rubs. No, not requesting. Demanding!
I like her! Great coloring! :thumb:
I have only ever owned solid colored cats. She’s SO pretty with all those colors, and her eyes are just bright gold.
I keep saying I don’t know if we will keep her, but yeah … I think we’ll be keeping her. I don’t think I could stand to part with her now!
