Financial Panic

The phone rings again before I even manage to come close to falling asleep, and it isn’t my mother. This time it’s someone having a panic attack about their investments, as if I have any advice. OK, I’m not completely stupid where investing and finances are involved, but I am a low-risk, long-term gambler. My advice is always the same, even in the current weirdness with the stock market: don’t sell, sit on it, if you can afford to, buy more prime and low-risk stock. Why is this my advice even in the dire situation the US market is currently in? I have faith that one of two things will happen. Either everything will go to hell and it won’t matter if you have money in the bank or worthless stock in a fund, because life as we know it will be over, or things will get better, and those of us who were patient will benefit. Or so I hope, anyway.

Since it seems I am not to have that extra hour of sleep I so desperately want, I will now begin filling myself with coffee so I can get my daily list of crap to do done.

I can’t wait to see who calls next having a panic attack and what the panic attack is about.
