In the 21st century, nations don’t invade other nations.

Oh … really?

  1. Oh, and yeah, Tasha … I feel ya! I was flipping between the news channels to see what was going on over in Georgia and ran across McCain flapping his jaws. Definitely a head-to-desk moment.

  2. He figured he had to say something and that was the first thing that blurted out. I suspect most people in attendance probably didn’t even know where Georgia was or that anything was going on. What really had Tailhook Boy and his ilk flustered was the fact that the Russians came after our pocket puppets like firetrucks out of the station, and that they actually kept their word to their protectorates. That’s something our bureaucratized military could never achieve. It’ll be a while before we again go probing the Russian frontier.

  3. McCain often seems to blurt out the first thing that pops into his head, and it usually tends to sound wrong. :P

Yeah, suddenly everyone knows where Georgia is. They didn’t really before. Most of the people I know gave up trying to remember where things were over there when all the countries formed (and reformed) and names changed. I’ll admit, there for a while, it wasn’t easy to keep track of what country was what and where, but this Georgia problem has been brewing for a while. I guess no one was paying attention.
