Running around the house at 3 am, as though their tails are on fire seems to be an ongoing activity. They turned two years old, and they developed a new and truly annoying behavior. Great. They’ve been at it since 3 am too. Wild things!

Since I fell asleep on the couch just before the Daily Show came on, I’d had some sleep before they started being bothersome. I went ahead and did some housework. I was up and awake, and the cats showed no signs of simmering down, so why not? The only housework task still on the list for today is sweeping and vacuuming. I’d do that too, but Lin’s still asleep. Feels weird having such a jump start on the to-do list. As soon as Lin is out of the house, I’ll do the floors, take the shower I know I will want to take once that’s done, and then the only things left on the list will be making beans for dinner and working on that long-suffering canvas sitting on my art table. Oh, and a nap. I’m sure to need a nap at some point. While I did get some sleep, I didn’t get as much as I needed. I’m so tired.

We’ll be watching the opening ceremony for the Olympics this evening. We don’t get into the Olympics much, if at all, but I saw some grainy clips of a practice for the ceremony, and it looks cool. It’ll probably look even more cool in high definition. I’d like to record it, but that would mean having to find space on the DVR. It’s so full. I suppose I could record some more of the George Carlin shows to DVD while I am doing the other things on the list, and maybe watch some of the multitudes of craft shows that have accumulated too. Those aren’t the things taking up all the hard drive space though. It’s movies. Movies in high definition that I’d really like to watch: 2010, Hogfather, Live Free or Die Hard, and some silly Sc-Fi flick, the name of which escapes me at the moment. I record way too much stuff on the DVR. We need a bigger hard drive!

I’m so glad it’s Friday. We don’t have any plans that I know of, which means we get to be lazy slugs all weekend. Not that I haven’t pretty much been a lazy slug all week, but it’s always more fun being lazy with someone else. Maybe we’ll get some of those movies watched so I can delete them. Or maybe we’ll just catch up on the sleep we have been missing out the last few days due to rambunctious, feisty kitties.

Time to go make coffee! I really need some too. :yawn:
