Rain. It slowly rained for a few hours last night. I stayed awake and sat on the porch. It was wonderful. Aaaah.
One of the reasons I was awake at the late hour it started raining was because the cats decided to have another loud play session in the middle of the night. I’m not sure why they are suddenly doing this, but I strongly disapprove.
I have decided I have had the very last argument about Lin getting out of bed in the morning. There seems to be only one solution to make him behave like an adult and get out of bed instead of hitting the snooze button on his alarm non-stop, expecting me to pester him to get up, and then giving me hell when I do: I will stop getting up first. Yes, I will not be getting up before the sun rises to make coffee and to pester him until he gets out of bed. He better spend some time shopping for a coffee maker with a timer on it. The pre-dawn shift at Orb’s Espresso is officially shut down until further notice.
Or I could just become a total banshee every morning and walk into the bedroom screaming every time his alarm goes off. He’d get up, to be sure. I’ve tried it before, and it works. It also has a tendency to make mornings even more miserable than they already are. Still, maybe if I went totally over the top with it — turning on lights, pulling back covers, etc. — it would make an impression on how much nicer it is to be gently reminded (over and over and over) that it’s time to get up.
Ooooh … I think I just heard thunder! I can’t be sure. It’s been ages since I have actually heard thunder. I think I’ll fix myself a cup of coffee and go sit on the porch again. It’s so nice and cool out there, and I don’t especially feel like being around the man-child who’s grumpy because HE didn’t get up earlier.
