It’s a Meme!
August 6th, 2008 - 8:11 pm
Been tagged by tsugradstudent with a meme-like thing at Livejournal (and I’d like to mention I am thrilled to find she has an LJ), and since I don’t have anything else at all to post about today, here goes:
01. How has LJ changed your life?
Aside from occasionally annoying the hell out of me, LJ has changed my life somewhat by giving me a really nice place to privately gripe to myself about stuff, a place to share some of that stuff with select close friends, and I’ve met some really cool people because of LJ. Oh, and it is a wonderful place for me to waste too many hours while I procrastinate on something I should be doing.
02. What do you do before bedtime?
I usually sit on the front stoop for a while and listening to the city. Also, I scroll through the overnight TV listings to see if there’s anything I want to record, because the things I want to watch tend to come on in the middle of the night.
03. What are you going to have for dinner tonight?
Leftover beef stew and cheese-jalapeƱo cornbread from last night. Oh so good!
04. What is the ONE place you want to go before you die if you had the money and the time?
The space station. Or the Mosquito Coast. I know those are odd, aren’t they?
05. What scares you?
On what level? The list is long! Globally: that humanity is going to wipe itself out in my lifetime. Nationally: that my country is in a downward spiral is won’t recover from. Metaphysically: that I will never know the truths I am seeking. Locally: that the food I eat is going to kill me and driving on the expressways. Personally: large biting bugs and snakes. Oh, and that I’m going to pass from this life never having accomplished anything of note. Enough? Yes, I’ll stop there.
06. What do you do in your free time?
When such a thing exists in my life, I usually sit around bored surfing the internet or playing video games. I suppose I could say I do arts and crafts, but that time isn’t really free time. That’s time actually scheduled to do arts and crafts. Same with reading, watching educational TV shows, and playing with cats. Those aren’t really free time activities, because they are scheduled events with an actual purpose (of some sort).
07. If you could speak another language (meaning one you currently don’t know), what would it be?
French. No … Latin. No … Japanese. No, wait … all of those and every other language out there.
08. What personal belonging do you have with you everywhere you go?
Cell phone, glasses, keys, wallet with the usual assortment of plastic bits in it (and a couple of dollar bills), camera, my sarcasm and cynicism.
09. What was your favorite song or musical group when you were young?
Way too many to list, so I’ll just mention the first two “groups” that popped into my head: Adam Ant and the Alan Parsons Project.
10. Are you a risk taker?
Yes and no. If I am given time to think about there being a risk, no. If my brain doesn’t have time to weigh all options and potential outcomes, yes. I do, occasionally, take some silly, crazy risks.
11. Is being tagged fun?
Well, at least it has given me something to say today. I said I was going to take a blogging vacation didn’t I? Maybe I need to do that soon.
12. Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In general, I no longer even think that far ahead. I’d have to say I see myself pretty much doing the things I do now and being the way I am. Unless I am dreaming, in which case I see myself as a jet-set star with all the fame, glory, and monetary income owed me due to my vast amounts of awesomeness. ![]()
13. If you could be anyone for one day, who would you be?
A god. Any god.
14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
Kooky, sweet, charming, smart, cute, and wonderful. Love her to bits!
15. Would you rather be single & rich or married but poor?
Having seemingly made this decision, my answer must be married but poor.
16. How many children do you want to have, if any?
None. That’s never been a really firm NONE, but yeah, pretty much never wanted to inflict myself on children. Well, my own anyway.
17. Is reality objective or subjective?
What is this reality you speak of? There is no spoon. Reality is a state of mind.
18. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
Why pick? I wouldn’t want to pick one. Technically, I shouldn’t have to pick one. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always work that way. If it did, I think my life right now would be much different.
19. Would you have 100% safe sex with a stranger for $10,000,000?
Depends on who the person is, but I will say my answer would like be “yes” … provided I didn’t give myself too long to think about it. See the previous question asking if I am a risk-taker.
20. What is your favorite color?
Why pick? I wouldn’t want to pick one. Technically, I shouldn’t have to pick one. Wait, this is a new question. OK, I really don’t have a favorite color, but I do love earthy and natural colors in the greens, blues, browns and yellows … like the colors of nature on a summer day.
And now that I have done my part to to secure this blood pact, I give you your instructions!
* Tag 2 people to do this quiz & those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by & cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people.
I tag: I normally don’t actually tag people, but this time I will. Gizka and Hilltop … you’re it! But you don’t have to if you don’t want to, of course.
* People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.
Thanks for the sweet words about me and my fee-way-ble attempts at blogging. I initially got the blog because another friend said that he’d only keep friends who were active bloggers so I had to do it… Thats my story and I’m sticking to it.
Hopefully, I’ll have something of substance to post soon. I really feel like what I post is sort of stupid but hey, we can’t be brilliant all the time!
I think 99.999% of everything I have ever posted in the last twelve or so years is stupid, and yet I keep posting and people keep reading.
Yes we do, but why do you think that is???
Because you are as bored as I am while I am babbling non-stop? Or maybe it’s like visiting a zoo and watching the monkeys fling poo?
