Sundress Love

Tonight, I fell in love with my new sundress. What changed my opinion?

Two Three things:

I washed it with the jeans today. Jeans break down fabrics wonderfully. The dress is a lot softer and more “worn” now, and it doesn’t look at all crisp, which a sundress should never really look. A sundress should always look like someone just had fun of some sort in them. Well, at least mine always seem to look that way.

I realized some of my aggravation with it yesterday had more to do with my frustration with the pattern and instructions that with the dress itself.

I tied the tie straps a different way. This time I tied them under the bustline, and it made all the difference. Tied that way, it’s lose and comfy, but it doesn’t completely obscure the fact I am actually shaped like a woman.

So, I love the sundress now, and I am already planning on making another one, perhaps with some slight alterations to the pattern. Or not. I like it just the way it is now, though I may make it another size smaller. Or two. Or not, because loose and comfy is nice.
