Anyone want to know how my Civilization IV game went yesterday? Well, I’ll tell you anyway.

I finally got the newest update installed. The game is now utterly unplayable. I have uninstalled every scrap of it this morning. I will reinstall the copy on the DVD momentarily, and I will not be updating it at all. The graphics problems and sound problems the original version had were nowhere near as annoying as a program that locks up my computer and crashes about every ten minutes. Locks … up … my iMac. To the point I have to power down, sometimes by unplugging it. Unacceptable.

I’ll see how things go after I put it back in my computer. If it still runs like crap, maybe I’ll trade it with someone for something that might work on my iMac or sell it on eBay. It’s a fantastic game. I love it. I do not love programs that crash and run like crap on my computer. It was the worst $50 I ever spent. If everyone on Macs were having problems, I’d say the Mac version was a piece of crap, but it isn’t everyone. It’s just some of us, and so far, nobody has found the common cause.

Pisses me off.

I need to decide soon which new game box I think we should get. I need new games. I need good games. I need games I am not playing on my computer, because aside from simple little games, this computer sucks for game playing, which is stupid considering it isn’t exactly an underpowered piece of crap. It’s a great computer.

I just want to play a sim game of some sort. Or any lengthy game. I have no new games. I require some gaming. It helps me relax, and I need to relax.

Grrrr. Off to reinstall the stupid game and see what happens.
