I’ve just discovered Uma Thurmon’s dad, Robert Thurmon, is a fascinating human being. He’s a professor of Buddhist studies at Columbia, and he was the first American to become an ordained Tibetan monk. An hour ago, I hadn’t even thought about Uma Thurmon’s dad, and now, I want to meet him in person.

Since that’s unlikely to happen, at least any time soon, I guess I’ll read reviews on his many books and see if there’s one I might want to splurge on next time I decide to splurge on a book or two.
