Daily Summation

Somehow I fell asleep in bed sometime last night and got up this morning and went and ran errands. I now have some thread and some pins and the sewing shall commence soon. As soon as I decide what to sew first. So many things I want to sew, but I have to pick one to start with!
I also have some of the groceries I needed. why only some? Because my grocery store was out of things. Yes … out of things, like sugar, tomato sauce, and mushrooms. WTF?! The only sugar they had available, other then the seriously overpriced fancy sugars, were 20 pound bags. Um, don’t need that much sugar. A half pound lasts me at least a month. And no tomato sauce?! Missing mushrooms?! There were huge gaps on all the store shelves too. Those were just the things I actually made note of because I needed them. I asked one of the wandering employees if they were getting ready for an inventory, because they don’t restock right before one, but she said “no” … and had no idea why they were out of so many things. They were seriously out of things the last time I was there too. I’m starting to wonder what is going on. It’s just really strange.
When I got back from the errands, I learned how to make Spore run on my Mac, and thus the rest of the afternoon was lost to useless playing. I am enjoying making creatures, and I suspect, even if it means upgrading my operating system, I will own Spore shortly after it is in stores. I’ve been waiting five years for this silly game. Of course, I’ll wait to see what the reviews have to say about it. The creature creator is sluggish on my rather zippy Mac, so it may not be worth bothering with after all. You know I want to bother anyway. This is just my kind of endless, time-sucking game.
Then when Lin got home and turned on his computer(s), suddenly, for no apparent reason, our network is networking and we can see and interact with the shared folders on both computers. It’s very strange, seeing as neither of us have changed any settings at all since we gave up on it months ago. Next we both have to set up remote desktops, and then we can annoy each other endlessly while hiding behind our respective computers. It’ll be so much fun!
And how about an update about my mouth situation? Well … no pain at all, no discomfort at all, and the only gaping hole in my jaw that is being slow about healing shut is the one that has a back door into my sinus. I knew that one was going to take a while. So basically, my mouth is doing great. In fact, it’s doing so great I don’t really have to think about chewing or eating, I just chew and eat. Last night I went after a very large center-cut pork chop with wild abandon. This afternoon I crunched my way through cheesy poofs, and tonight we are having fried chicken breasts. It’s really awesome being able to eat again, and it’s really awesome not having to deal with all the tooth and jaw problems I was having for so long. In short, I feel pretty damn good right now.
I think that about sums up the day. I need to go fry the chicken. The rice and fried okra are already done, so it’s just the chicken to get done. Lin ate a huge meal at work today, so he wasn’t hungry earlier. Well, I’m starving! We are eating now. I don’t care if he’s hungry or not! ![]()
