Lin is whining about needing to take a course in navigation to understand the marine navigation charts which he has been staring at for the last hour. I am bored. Not that I expect him to constantly be entertaining, but the sailing babble gets old after a while. Naturally, I have been feigning interest, because I expect him to do the same when I am yammering about something he finds incredibly dull.
The cats have been lazy slugs all day. So have I. My major accomplishments of the day have been doing the dishes, taking out some trash, and tending to my plants. It’s just too hot to do anything else. It already feels like we are in the middle of the summer doldrums, and it’s not even July yet. It’s only going to get worse.
Mom is loving her new internet and cable TV. Oh does she love the DVR. I knew she would. She’s already been recording shows and watching them the next day and now she watches her soaps after they have shown and skips all the commercials. She adores the fact she can pause live TV when her friends call, and she’s absolutely thrilled with how quickly she can look things up on Google and download her email. Mom is happy. Success!
Well, it’s been a good day, even if it has been a little too boring and a lot too hot.
